✨ Exciting news! The EndoTheranostics ERC Synergy project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), to redesign diagnosis and treatment of ColoRectal Cancer (CRC), has been officially launched.

On 28–29 November 2024, the four project partners —Università degli Studi di Torino, King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, and CREATE consortium— came together in person for the project kick-off meeting at MITIC (Minimally Invasive Therapy and Innovation Centre) at Molinette Hospital in Turin.

The agenda featured updates, discussions on ongoing and future tasks, and project management planning.

The four Principal Investigators were present:
Professor Alberto Arezzo, Professor Kaspar Althoefer, Professor Sebastien Ourselin FREng FMedSci and Professor Bruno Siciliano.

Key topics of discussion during the kick-off included:
✨ Material studies for foldable sleeves
✨ High-definition 3D stereo vision
✨ Development of sensorized robotic probes
✨ Microsurgical robot hardware design

The team is also prioritizing:
Integration of Guardian AI for safe robot control
3D polyp surface reconstruction
Advancements in automatic dissection and suturing
Architecture modeling, safety requirements, and experimental studies in the endoscopic environment

Compelling progress is on the horizon as we work towards revolutionizing the field of Theranostics!
